If I was the Leader!
By, Robert May
1.) If I was... If I was the most powerful man in the world and the leader of the greatest nation in the world I would...
a.) Not appoint homosexuals to prominent positions throughout my government. "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet." -Roman 1:27
A brave cop and a great American stood up for his beliefs, and stood up for truth.

b.)Immediately and publicly renounce my membership in the Satanic Skull & Bones society. "Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me." -Deuteronomy 5:9 http://www.balaams-ass.com:80/journal/prophecy/skull.htm
c.)Immediately reinstall the right to bear arms for all Americans as the Constitution demands. "Then said he[Jesus] unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." -Luke 22:36
d.)Stop the suppression of Christian beliefs in favor of Islam. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." -Exodus 20:3 http://news.christiansunite.com/religion/religion01504.shtml Who said: "Islam is a great religion." -President George W. Bush Who said: "Islam is a beautiful, beautiful religion." -Mayor Rudolph Giuliani Who Kissed the Koran: -Pope John Paul II kisses the Koran at the end of an audience with Patriarch Raphael I of Iraq. Who said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." -Jesus Christ There is no alternative. "Choose ye this day whom you will serve." -Joshua 24:15
e.)Put an immediate stop to the murder of thousands of innocent babies daily. The 30 million or so babies that have been murdered in the last 30 or so years. Oh, but who's counting!? I AM!!! Signed GOD. That's a lot of death and blood. That's a lot of excruciating pain endured in those precious small God-created bodies. That's a lot of tears that my God has shed. That's a lot of sickening laughter that Satan enjoys every minute of every day. But God said, NO, God COMMANDED, "Thou shalt not kill." THOU SHALT NOT KILL. Read my lips. No!!! Read my Word. THOU SHALT NOT KILL!!! -Exodus 20:13 Every death of every precious sweet and wonderful baby will not go unavenged. God is alive and WATCHING!!! Well, there you have it. My five points. But then, I am not the most powerful man in the world and the leader of the greatest nation in the world... so what do I know!? I know that as God has promised, that I have the mind of Christ! -1 Corinthians 2:16 What would YOU do? What would Jesus do? We all know the answer Political pressure is no excuse. "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more." -Luke 12:48 Until next week, may we all remain faithful, and pray for our leaders. "ATHEISM" a Definition
This definition (available at http://americanatheists.org), was the beginning of the case initiated in 1959 by the Murray family which challenged prayer in our public schools. It begun (and such is the mentality, sadly, of more people all the time though they would not call themselves "atheists"):
"Your petitioners are atheists, and they define their lifestyle as follows. An atheist loves himself and his fellow man instead of a god. An atheist accepts that heaven is something for which we should work now -- here on earth -- for all men together to enjoy. An atheist accepts that he can get no help through prayer, but that he must find in himself the inner conviction and strength to meet life, to grapple with it, to subdue it and to enjoy it. An atheist accepts that only in a knowledge of himself and a knowledge of his fellow man can he find the understanding that will help to a life of fulfillment."
With the above definition in mind, we need to pray for the salvation of Ellen Johnson and other officials at American Atheists; that they and others will proclaim "Oh my God" willingly on earth while they still have breath to do so, before they are forced to utter the same statement unwillingly- once they reach their eternal destination". By: Jonathan Selby,
ALL or NOTHING!
If Jesus is NOT the truth- than there is NO answer (Nothing really matters than except temporal pleasures and satisfactions) BUT- if HE (Jesus) IS the truth, (than it's just the opposite case) He is EVERYTHING (and likewise MUST BE everything to us). The only outstanding prerequisite than is FAITH, (upon which all is contingent).and...
When you boil it all down- the only explanation that makes sense is Jesus Christ.
Christ HAS to be THE answer, for without Christ there is no answer, no Messiah, no hero, no one that stands out from other men, no one with real power, power over nature, power over death, And most important, without HIM- NO ATONEMENT, no perfect sacrifice, to pure blood to reconcile us to a holy God. We would all remain totally dead in trespasses and sin, separated from God eternally without hope- if there is no atonement, if no reconciliation. OH how we need a savior, for there is no hope if there is no Christ, if there is no pure sacrifice that justice and punishment demands for our evil. Where else would we go? who's mercy could we plead? What offering would we have? If it were not for the lamb of God.
If we lose all, if we are imprisoned for life, lose all physical things, family, and friends, and if we be tortured to death, and yet are reconciled by the blood to God by faith in Christ- then we are yet most victorious, for we have gained all, even eternal life. Not only does He grant the only available valid atonement, but He grants great mercy (all things considered), that is, especially due to the ugliness of our sin and wrath that we deserve. And further, that He does chasten those He loves.
Oh God, I want so much for you to be the focus, purpose of, and on the throne of my life.
No matter how great an ordained leader may be, or of whatever institution, be it family to nation, if his subjects are bent on self-determined rebellion, unsubmission or independence, (as Lucifer), then the failure of that union should not be held against him.
I deduced in my prepubescent years that all man does, or that motivates him, could pretty accurately fall within three categories- either:
"God, sex or money"
(and that the prior did not mix will with either of the two later which mixed rather well).
At times I did not agree with that deduction, mostly feeling it was not comprehensive of the truth of the premise- however, now being much older, I tend to think it was indeed insightful and a rather valid assessment. Especially, if you allow for "sex" to include all those things one does for his family and home etc., and you allow "money" to include power and/or survival etc...
My thoughts were inspired along this line while looking out the window this am, watching the creatures scurry about their little lives, and it even appeared they were very similar- except if they had any comprehension of God? (which I rather suspect they do). For the sparrow, for example, seemed intent to spend the largest amount of his time scrutinizing for any sight or sound of potential food- but not so much that his ear was not caught by the sound of a mating chipper in a nearby tree.
Authenticity of the Scriptures
The existence of controversies over interpretations of scriptures is not all negative. I find it reassuring when various scholars debate the meaning of somewhat obscure passages (re: the head covering, "Except it be for fornication", "Upon this rock I will build my church" etc.)- for if the scriptures had not been preserved, these uncertain passages would have long since been altered. In other words, the controversies support the preservation and authority of the most extant manuscripts and likewise our confidence in them. Further, although uncertainty to some passages may exist and be perplexing, nevertheless, the "preponderance of the evidence", even the foundation of our faith, remains sure, that is: salvation by faith alone in the shed blood of Jesus Christ- almighty God and Savior.
The Strongest Evidence for Jesus
I think that the strongest evidence that Jesus is the true Christ, Messiah, and even God incarnate is the absolutely unparalleled and immense profundity of His own words. (John 7:46)
Our Level of Faith
In considering which way to go it came to me rather pointedly..."YOU CAN CHOOSE TO HAVE FAITH- OR NOT"
But how do we know if/when the amount or degree of our faith has risen to the level of salvation? "(Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" Acts 16:31)
Nevertheless we do know that if we have the amount of faith like a "mustard seed", that it should (in the right soil) grow into a great tree. (What kind of soil are you?).
Sometimes it seems what I felt was a strong tree is suddenly fallen to just a mustard seed again- and that seed is only enough faith to cry out to Him to increase my faith to be a tree again.
If you have faith that you have faith- then you have Faith (circular)
(however, if you have faith that you have faith in Jesus Christ- does that mean you definitely have faith in Jesus Christ? and though you feel you have faith in Christ- how do you know when it's enough to save your soul? and if you think, well, I did this or that, or didn't do this or that, entirely because of my faith in Christ- how do you know you didn't do it just to convince yourself that you really have faith)? Where is the meter of genuine faith?
Finding God's Will
George Muller was an Englishman who lived in the 1800's and took care of thousands of orphans simply by faith in God. When asked how he determined the will of God on any matter, Muller listed the following steps. He said:
"1. I get my heart into such a state that it has no will of its own in regard to any particular matter. 2. I do not leave the result to feelings or simple impressions- that can make one open to great delusions. 3. I seek God's will through or in connection with His word. If you look to the Spirit without the word you open yourself to delusion (as well) 4. I consider providential circumstances (God-controlled circumstances) 5. I ask God in prayer to reveal His will to me. 6. I make sure I have a clear conscience before God and man. 7. (Every time I listened to men instead of God, I made serious mistakes). 8. I act only when I am at peace, after much prayer, waiting on God with faith".
Where is God?
Sometimes i wonder where God is and why can't I get through, and sometimes i must go all the way back to square one- which begins with the fundamental beliefs- "For without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God" (would desire to find, now or draw close to Him, first) "must believe that He is, (square 1) and (then) that He is (and will be) a rewarder (will answer- and verify His existence to those low in faith) of them that diligently (with some serious perseverance) seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)...and
"If you "Draw near unto God- He will draw near unto you" James 4:8
Definition: Webster: "ASCETIC/ASCETICISM"
"1. A person who practices unusual self-denial and devotion, or severe discipline for religious purposes. 2. person who refrains from pleasures and comforts. (Asceticism): 1. life or habits of an ascetic 2. doctrine that by abstinence and self-denial a person can train himself to be in conformity with God's will". (I believe that could deffinitely help- JS)
or- from the apostle PAUL, Romans 12:
"1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God".
A Paraphrased Definition: (Selby): "CHRISTIAN ASCETIC/ASCETICISM"
"1. A (true) believer in Jesus Christ who practices sacrificial self-denial and devotion, or severe discipline because of their love for others. 2. A believer who refrains from pleasures and comforts (that would otherwise cost time or money) which can instead be utilized towards the cause of evangelism and helping others (Love). (Christian Asceticism): 1. life or habits of an Christian Ascetic 2. doctrine that by abstinence and self-denial a Christian fully surrenders themselves to Christ and love for others and can therefore (by God's grace and power) be in conformity with God's will".
Smashing TV's in Church
"The following brief message I felt very burdened to bring having to do with the priorities in the Christian's life, especially the amount of time we/they (are) were spending in front of the TV as opposed to the time spent with, or for the Lord. And so after finding myself indulging in that the previous day I felt led to make a very clear demonstration of the conviction I felt regarding this. Therefore, I took my TV and putting it in a box, the next morning (Sunday), took it up, and taking it out of the box in front of the church, and sliding over the Bible that they had open there, putting the TV unto that table, expressing how that we have done this so much in our lives, and then taking a hammer that I had in the box and actually feeling led to smash that TV to demonstrate in a very strong way how God feels about such adulteries that are in our lives, and then putting that TV forcefully back into the box, and putting the Bible back into the center of the table, and letting God use this massage, I believe, to those believers and to others that might hear of it".

Moderator: "OK, Jon"
Jonathan: (While walking towards front carrying a large box)
" I have something I would like to share this morning...I felt led to share this, because, as I was...especially yesterday...uh, here's something that we like to do a lot" (sliding Bible to one side of table and then closing it) "slide this over a little bit...close it all together...I thought maybe what we would do this morning- is watch some TV", (removing the TV from the box and setting it on table) "I mean, why not, we do it at home all the time- right? we close up the Word of God and prefer to give our time to something like this, we can just sit there and have our flesh entertained, like I was doing yesterday?
I think one of the most grievous sins in Israel was idolatry, something that they put before them and God, and God hated it. And God came down on them. And God said, you are my people, you are supposed to be spending your time, efforts and energy, worshiping and serving me, instead... (Taking hammer out of box and beginning to hammer face of TV unsuccessfully)- you know what these are good for? I'll show you (repositioning TV for better angle- then dramatically smashing the picture tube)- that's what they're good for! they're good for being destroyed and getting out of our homes- you've heard of poison in the pot? this is far worse, this is all poison, there's so little nutritional value in this that the poison will kill you long before you'll get anything good out of it!"
. (Putting broken TV back in box, opening and sliding Bible back in center of table, and returning to my seat- after putting the box outside the back door).
Moderator: "OK, thank you Jon, that is a real message in that a, OK, Tony..." (Sharing time continues)
(Opening of sermon by Missionary guest speaker):
"I have three responses to, to Jon's little, or big, a demonstration here this morning,
Number one, I've been in the Bible an awful lot in the last twelve years, we
translated a summary of the Old Testament, and I've worked also in the New Testament
a lot, and I noticed that God often had Old Testament prophets say something
dramatic with an audiovisual. And that's what happened here this morning.
Number two, The a, a lot of the Protestantism is based on the idea in the Bible that the righteous, that we are declared righteous through faith. Because Abraham became- because he believed God, he was declared righteous. That verse was picked up by the a, in the Protestant reformation, and has been sort of the base upon which we exist. Our righteousness comes, we are declared righteous because we are, because of our faith in God, that He saved us.
I noticed in the Old Testament too, that there are two men who are cited, another man was declared righteous because of his zeal for the house of the Lord, for this zeal for the children of Israel. God commanded His people not to associate with the evil people around them, because He said if you do they're going to bring you- their evil into your midst and you're going to become like them, and that's exactly what happened. And one time, a certain man, I forget his name, but he saw where the children of Israel were doing evil by bringing in the surrounding Cannanites into their midst, and he went out, went out and did something dramatic. He forced the people of Israel to put away their wives that had come from the Cannonite people, he did it in a very dramatic way. and the Bible also says that he was declared righteous because of what he did. We rarely, rarely talk about that, that God also has two sides to Him. He is a God of love, but He is also a God who demands, demands that we be, (that we) put the sin out from among us.
Number three, I was with somebody recently and was rather startled to hear them say, that back in the time of World War Two, Joseph Stalin said- he made a rather dramatic statement, he said, "we don't ever have to worry about fighting the United States because they are going to rot out from the inside".
Those are my three responses to this, to Jon this morning
Posting the Ten Commandments?
To the Editor, (Published Murfreesboro TN, Daily News Journal 4-01-02)
It seems this push to have the Ten Commandments posted in the court house must be a publicity stunt or for some other ulterior motive? For obviously God's law is NOT the same as the majority of this people- and therefore it would be hypocrisy to post it- especially in the court house. Specifically, only 2 or 3 of the 10 commandments are illegal any longer- so to be honest, if we want to post any, we should just post the 2 or 3 of God's laws that we do evidently still agree with. eg: "Killing, stealing and bearing false witness (sometimes). When the morality of this country and society eroded to the point that a heinous act such as adultery would not be considered a crime, or that murdering the innocent unborn was an exception to murder, and certain perversions were just "preferences", is it any wonder that the removal of His standards from schools and public display was soon to follow?Jonathan Selby, Woodbury, TN.
Montgomery AL., August 26,2003
You might wonder after reading the above why I would bother going to protest "FOR" the "10 Commandments" NOT being removed from that government building. I was there for two reasons, one was that I had initially intended to take that opportunity, (beings that the issue involved the importance of Biblical standards) to make my own personal protest to the whole state of affairs regarding the neglect of the Lord's teachings- including and especially by the "church" (which turned out in proportion to their concern about these things). Secondly, there is this scripture that asks to the effect- "Where were you when the foundations of godliness were being removed?" which seems to say that we should not be quiet and sit by when such things that attack our values are going on. However, these efforts seem to no avail against the tide of events that must unfold in order to bring an end to all these things and the ushering in of Christ's great kingdom.
Date: Sat, 18 Nov 2000 From: Jonathan Selby (Published Editorial, Mrf. Tn DNJ)
I read with great distress the article in Wednesday, November 15th's paper regarding the late Mr.Thompson's family suicide/murder. Detective Morton said she felt certain that Monday's hearing on violating an order of protection had "some role in this", and a family friend said they never "saw any form of violence out of him (Mr.Thompson) at all" I'm sure Mr.McVicker, of the Domestic violence program, feels this kind of act validates all the more their work- BUT could it be that there is a "ditch on both sides of the road" here, and that in an effort to be "Knights in shining armor", that they are sometimes so zealous about obtaining "orders of protection" etc., (and other organizations as well such as Legal Aid- many times being little more than mechanisms facilitating frivolous divorces through a “mass production” judicial system), that in process they inadvertently cause themselves what they're trying to prevent- such as tragedies like this? Some men take government intervention in their homes and threats that they feel could destroy what they value the most- very seriously, and can not cope with the fear of losing it- would feel that the end of their family is the same as the end of their lives. I think these deaths should not be in vain, but a wake-up call to the whole system, especially to not be so hasty when they begin interfering in homes, and especially that the courts would further not grant divorces for just "any old reason". This epidemic destruction of our homes needs to be turned around, its unGodly, and the saddest part is that our children are suffering the worst for it.
ARE YOU WEARING A SIGN ON YOUR HEAD ?
" I can't help it- she won't listen to me!"
Though just a cartoon, it is really illustrating a very serious problem, underlying much of the enemies current destruction, and possibly, unbeknown to the women wearing these signs, often represents an insidious attitude of their hearts,
(which this perverted culture has sown therein),
(e.g.; destruction of the homes, hence-destruction of the nation, hence destruction of the world-
however, ,all right on schedule for the grand-finale of all things). (*a)
The Bible teaches, via the Apostle Paul, that GOD commands women to have long hair, and that their long hair is a symbol or
"sign on their heads", (*b) that they are in submission to their husbands. Therefore, a woman with short hair is likewise wearing a sign on her head, declaring to everyone just the opposite- that, she is "not submitted to her husband" (or man). (*c)
Not only does GOD command this, but He goes on to say that a woman's long hair is a special, GOD given glory for her adornment,to enhance and distinguish her from man, and further, that a man
therefore, is not to have long hair. (*d) Also, please notice, in these passages, that there are two different
coverings referred to, and Godly woman are to be obedient to both.
One is her natural hair, allowed to grow and remain long, and the other is a fabric covering to even further identify her submission to the Lord her GOD by obedience and reverence for her husband. (*e) The Apostle Paul put it this way, in the form of a rhetorical statement: "If it is a shame for a woman to have her head shaved...",(and, of course it is),.."than she should also wear a covering". (*f) and I would suggest, to be on the safe side, that being that it is a shame for a woman to be shaven at any time, that likewise she should have her covering on at all times as well (where seen by other people).
"THE HEAD OF EVERY MAN IS CHRIST, AND THE HEAD OF EVERY WOMAN IS THE MAN"(General)
I Corinthians 11:3 (whether one believes it or not-GOD
said it) !
"Does not even nature itself teach you" (these basic things), "that: if a man has long hair" (like only a woman should), that is a disgrace" (just as if he were wearing woman's clothing etc.), "but when a woman has long hair she depicts that special glory which GOD has granted unto her. (*g) If a woman refuses to wear a head covering, than she might as well shave off all her hair as well- (however, if a bald head would be a shame for her, that manifests that she should be wearing a covering).(*h) Brother Paul concludes the subject then, by simply stating that, (*i) this is the way we have it in all of GOD'S churches. (enough said)

You the people have NO right prosecuting this teenage couple for murdering their newborn baby! Who taught them to do this kind of thing? You did! You the people of this government. What?! You want to prosecute them because they didn't kill the child according to your procedure? Evidently the majority of you, (and therefore the president that you elected as well), have already decided and voted that it is acceptable to kill babies, however you've set some guidelines as to when and how. You people are willingly ignorant. What's the big difference if you kill the child before or after they make their transition from the womb to the world? Does the child not have a heartbeat before? Does he not absorb oxygen into his system? Does he not function and have all the potential as he does after he is born?- after he comes through the birth canal into this society of butchers! What?! Is your method of forcefully reaching up inside the mother with instruments, ripping the baby apart, and suctioning it out more humane? Those kids probably did it more compassionately, (if you can even apply such a term to murder- seems like a contradiction of terms to me), As if it is our choice to take a life at all, in compassion or otherwise. Is not God (who gives life) capable to determine when to take it? Why don't you leave those kids alone, haven't you caused them enough suffering already- being accomplices by your ungodly influence and/or lack of concern? (No doubt they will suffer all their lives for this and possibly more), After all- they only did what you taught them> You are the ones that told them that it was all right to kill their babies in the first place- only they didn't do it according to your terms! (It would be more reasonable to sue the parents for procedural malpractice). You (or we) are the ones to blame for the murder of this innocent child- just as surely as our sins nailed Christ to the cross. Prosecute them if and when you the people realize that: God gives life and anytime man takes it away its murder. Footnote: All of (human) life is a multi-developmental process, from conception to eternity, with the only forks in the road at salvation and death. Therefore, even the transition from the womb to the world, is but a physical step in this process, (and surely not the beginning of ones life).
When I was a young man once, with my first wife Lisa, we were living near Wildwood New Jersey. I was doing art work along the board walk, and sand sculptures, etc., (and not being a responsible father), I had come up from the beach and was sitting on a boardwalk bench with my portfolio, pastels etc., dressed, and with a blanket draped over my shoulders, as it was getting on towards evening. The police came along in front of me in their jeep and said that I could not have that blanket on because it was not "proper attire'. I told them that I believed I had a right to have a blanket on and refused to take it off.
So they proceeded to throw me in the back of their vehicle, and with lights and sirens, take me to jail for "Disobeying an officers order", "loitering" ( I had been there about 15 min.'s) and and ordinance regarding "proper attire". (Essentially, I just wanted to see if a person could really be arrested in America for wearing a blanket?
That was my first of several short (so far) jail experiences in my life- for standing up for what I felt was a principal.
The next evening I was back, and the same police came up and took a hold of me to do the same as previously- for the same reason. "Improper attire", but I had in the morning read their ordinance and interrupted them with- "sirs- please examine this first" and I showed them a button that I had sown on the blanket and a slit I had made for it, and proceeded to demonstrate how it worked as well and said: "Now, my blanket qualifies as "proper attire" according to your ordinance" they got on their radio, and shortly drove away disappointed.
Wildwood,NJ., 6-6-70 violation of ord. 4-2-4,improper attire,disobey pol. orders,loitering,$50+10costs,pleaded not guilty
Now you might say this was a trivial event- however it was momentous in my life. For when I had returned home from jail the following morning, my first wife (Lisa) had left me- and we were never together again (despite many hopes efforts on my part). And further, I still feel that the lose of Lisa has derailed the balance of my life (thus far).
maybe Libertarian or just confused.? (Probably the later)
My current understanding of this country's parties leaves me leaning largely republican but not all together. For example, the Democrats are big on big government and government control- and I would pull the plug on most of it. like national defense, space exploration, welfare and child support systems etc. We'd be better off without it- most of it's a waste. Of course on the abortion issue I'm clearly republican (opposed) and... I don't care about animals (accept as they may be of service and whatever that requires), however, as far as capital punishment I suppose I'm more a democrat because I feel people can be helped, and on sexual issues I believe in God's standards so that makes me republican there, I suppose, I am against drug use of any kind (ideally), but I think the government should essentially stay out of it, I'm republican as to education whereas it should be left more to the family, as to my property, it seems to belong to the government according to the democrats, to which I disagree, just as they seem to think it is their responsibility to care for all the "disadvantaged" whereas the republicans might tend to be more supremist, I resist that later perspective. Actually, much of the democratic perspective would be somewhat viable in a "Christian community" as to human services and property being more equally distributed, and their social concepts, but I do not believe that these ideals can work in "Caesar's" system. Religion is more do your own thing with the democrat's, where as the republicans seem to say that there really is only one truth, to which I would agree. So if this is the bottom line, that democrat's are more social and big government and republicans more business, individual autonomy and survival (and closer to Biblical standards), I guess I m a conservative republican for the most part. However, I guess I am more democrat as far as attacking other countries because I don't believe in going to war at all (in the physical). In summary the politics of this world is not my thing, I don't see myself as a Jimmy Baker or Jerry Falwell, because Christ's kingdom "Is not of this world", therefore my battle is not with this world- its for souls. The goal of the gospel is not to save the world, its to change hearts for eternity. What the world governments do is their business- I just wish they would stay out of mine. However, (I do believe in Caesar' police force and courts for genuine criminal activity, that's Biblical). So let me know what you think after you read my writings...maybe I'm some kind of new "Christian communist/socialist"? (If that's possible) (If communism can also mean (without a dictator but) living with "all things common" in community, or if "socialism" can mean things are owned "collectively" and delegated by the elders- that might work)? but really...I Don't know if I fit into any political party?
PS: "Yet he (Dwight D. Eisenhower) chose to declare that he was a REPUBLICAN because he believed that Democratic policies were promoting centralized government at the expense of individual liberty" (Stephen E. Ambrose/George H. Mayer).... I tend to agree. (Did you know he liked to play golf?)

address but no response? do u get these or do u have a more direct email address?)
couple thoughts- re: Bro. Altafs' story this AM about the gunman who came into the meeting and martyr'd those believers?- imagine a little different twist on that, what if they came into (our) meeting that way and said- "If you'll deny Jesus remain seated, however if you stand up for him we will shoot you on the spot!"
imagine as the crowd thinned out who would continue to stand up- and if (unfortunately) any us would come out of there alive? or: what if there was not the support of a body around us (and where no one would know), say someone was to come into McDonald's and asked the same question? how many of us would stand up then? (that would surely separate the sheep from the goats).anyway, emailed the following to u yesterday- don't know if u got it-? thought it was good so here it is again.
For God and Country!
This is quite thought provoking! Satan's Meeting (read even if you're busy)
Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said:
"We can't keep Christians from going to church. We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth. We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their savior. Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."
"So let them go to their churches; let them have their
covered Dish dinners,
but steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is what I want you to do", said the devil. "Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!"
"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.
"Keep them busy in the nonessentials of life and invent
innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered. "Tempt
them to spend, spend, and borrow, borrow. Persuade the wives to go to work
for long hours and the husbands to work
6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles.
Keep them from spending time with their children. As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work! Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice. Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive.....to keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly. This will jam their minds and break that
union with Christ. Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers. Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day. Invade their driving moments with billboards.
Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes."
"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night. Give them headaches too! If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere."
"That will fragment their families quickly! Go give them
Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning
of Christmas. Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection
and power over sin and death. Even in their recreation, let them be excessive.....have
them return from their recreation
exhausted. Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead. Keep them busy, busy, busy! And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, leave with troubled consciences. Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus. Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause. It will work!"
It was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments
Christians everywhere to having little time for their God or their families; having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives. I guess the question is, has the devil been successful at his scheme?
You be the judge!
Does "busy" mean:
These few thoughts have some sexual references and therefore to go to and open this page you will probably have to be an adult to figure out how. God doesn't have an "Opinion", "Point of view", or "Perspective", (as we do with our muddied water minds, He has ABSOLUTE KNOWLEDGE of the ABSOLUTE TRUTH that is a constant and solid rock.

"Our world is definitely in bad shape as far as God is concerned. It's bad enough that the unbelievers are sinning against God's law but it's even worse that believers are doing the same dumb thing. Whoa to any and all Christians that aren't removing intentional sin from their lives for they are no better off than the heathen. It is nice to have the Ten Commandments written on the courthouse walls but it is far better to have them written upon one's heart." Tony

DID YOU KNOW YOU WERE PARAPHRASING SCRIPTURE ABOVE? ("Willingly ignorant Scoffer")
(II Peter 3)"1: This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Savior: 3: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4: And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5: For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8: But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11: Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12: Looking for and hastening unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13: Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14: Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15: And account that the long-suffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17: Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. 18: But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen."
(Matthew 24) "48: But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49: And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50: The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51: And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth"
...and you continued:
" I realize, and accept that >fanatics like you exist. Maybe you are exercising your freedom by submitting >a web site like this, but I as an American must defer to common sense and >say "Enough is Enough" to the Nut Bags of the world"
YOUR "enough is enough" IS THE REASON THESE OPPRESSIONS ARE COMING

the faith as in Judges. If Jesus was a lie or a hoax why would the 12 give up
their lives and not even being together. It was faith in what they saw and new
in Jesus. I always thought they were fortunate to have walked and talked with
Jesus. Maybe we will have the same fortune to see Him come in the clouds or
better still be with Him when He comes.

Thank you for responding with your honesty. You are right-,just common sence- like- 1)Something has obviously separated us from sure knowledge of the origin of all things 2) Love is surely the most prescious element of life
and 3) we must have fallen or done something contrary to love to be in this current quandary of uncertainty- and need reconciliation- likewise the common sense need for a Savior-enter the only one available JESUS CHRIST.
Do you have a better explanatio...

I enjoyed your article on divorce and remarriage. I too am divorced and remarried. My first wife was an adulteress and I put her away (divorced her). The doctrines I hold to are 99% Reformed/Baptistic, but I hold to the Mennonite (Anabaptist) view on involvement in government, war and no-resistance. This combination makes it extremely difficult to find like-minded believers. I would be inclined toward fellowshipping with the Conservative Mennonites, but I know what they believe concerning divorce, and have heard stories about what I can only describe as blatant legalism. For now my wife and I attend a Baptist church that is Reformed in holds to the doctrine of grace. Again thank you for being used of the Lord and writing your letter.
Yours in His service, James R.
P.S. some things you have touched on remind me of a book that my Pastor (who is now with the Lord) pointed me to: Published 1853 Author is Harris, Rev. John Title is Mammon; Or, Covetousness the Sin of the Christian Church.
John Harrris also wrote a book never to be published: In the light of Christ "America Enemy of the Cross" In this book he unfolds how this country like others has its own gospel, the gospel ofpersonal gain.
Brother Jonathan, I enjoyed our phone visit yesterday. Sorry it didn't work for you to check out the 20 acres in Bunn. I would love for you to live there and manage the rental property. I am resigned to the Lord's will in this matter. I'm going to pray about the Convention. Have you ever read THE MIRROR OF TRUTH? If the Holdeman Church has the TRUTH, i don't know if it would just add confusion to attend the Convention. Are these Mennonites maintaining the truth? The ladies don't have their heads covered. I know that you are against worldliness. There is a Holdeman Church in Wadesboro(east of Charlotte). Maybe I am deceived, but I have not found another church that has the truth like the Holdemans. Christian greetings and blessings.
Dear sister- iam turned off at hearing any church say IT has THE truth implying that only they have it figured out and that they have it exactly right. that is so egocentric and precisely what every CULT postulates- that THEY have it figured exactly. JESUS alone is THE truth and all of those in Him have the truth to an extent and are growing in that knowledge of Him. It makes sense that we should attend a church that we feel is closest to who Jesus is, but for any "Church" to get puffed up is exactly that- puffed up- in what they feel Jesus meant in all He said. NO church, or NO man should ever claim that he/they are perfect (in the truth) which is the exact same heresy that the roman catholic church got into with their power and control trip with their popes. IT makes no sense that any Godly person or "Church" should endeavor to deceive its people to say in essence that if you are not here you are not in the truth. Cant you see the err in that doctrine alone? and if a church is in err at square one- be sure they're making more along the way as well. I of course agree with you on the head covering issue, and I'm am sure that they (the Haldemans) are much closer to the truth then most conventional churches- but remember the word of God alone is inspired and not men's interpretations. Everyone and every church of course believes that their understanding is close or they would of course (hopefully) change it when they learn or realize something new, but to say in essence that THEY have arrived (and therefore they are "THE church of Jesus Christ" (LDS) is a power/bondage trip to deceive the simple straight from the pit of hell as far as I'm concerned. Further- I Think of course that I have the proper understanding of love and Christian priorities and that all others are missing the boat. But God forbid if I am not willing to say in humility that "I could be wrong" or "correct me if I'm wrong" or show me, or teach me, or may the Holy Spirit continue to guide me into all truth, or to be the judge of others who have not come to the same conclusion as I. That doctrin alone, if i agreed with ALL their other positions would be sufficient to keep me from being part of such a church. Lord bless you on your Spiritual journey and I suggest you humbly stay open as you grow in grace and a knowledge of HIM. iam not certain myself if I will be attending this convention but it probably will be spiritually beneficial to all. Yours in Christ, Jonathan
Ronnie Bowyer here from Ft Worth, Texas. Just wanted to thank you for your inspiring website. I happened on it doing a search for the song Bread sings and then listened to all your songs. Read more and really liked what I read. Very touching. It really makes me want to be closer to God.
Thank you for the wonderful Christian music and for the other information in your website.
